FOUR DOOR SIDEBOARD
Dès 1981, Pierre Chapo réalise ses plans sur ordinateur. En 1985, après de longues recherches, il imprime le plan d’élévation de l’enfilade R 28 qui compte parmi les dernières pièces Chapo. R 28 rompt avec les pièces précédentes et met l’accent, non plus sur l’assemblage, mais sur le volume construit à partir des surfaces planes en bois massif.
From 1981 onward, Pierre Chapo produced his drawings on a computer. In 1985, after extensive research, he printed the elevation plan for the R28 sideboard, which is among Chapo’s final pieces. The R28 breaks with his earlier works, shifting the focus away from joinery and toward the volume constructed from flat surfaces in solid wood.
