History
In 1959, Pierre Chapo designed a bed as a special commission for the writer Samuel Beckett. He wittily named it “Godot,” in reference to the play, Waiting for Godot. L 01 became its name in the Chapo nomenclature and and it can be considered the starting point for the first Chapo collection, which was officially presented in early 1963. The L 01 bed is memorable for its taut, sober, simple lines, its movable bedhead, and the box joints at the corners of the frame, the only decorative element, and one which would often be copied. It can be used as a bed, a bench or a daybed.

GODOT BED
Four indented cylindrical legs, a bottom plywood with holes for ventilation of the mattress, with or without headboard. Pushed along a wall, covered with a cloth into the wooden frame, it serves as a seat without giving to the room a character of a bedroom; We recommend the mattress foam Bultex or latex dimpled (thickness 10-13 cm)

Essence
Made in Elm or oak. Other species may be proposed (ash, beech, Cypress...) all issues of a responsible forest management.
Finishes :
Finally we apply a mixture of simple and natural oil of linseed and turpentine. Perfect for a daily use , simple and respectful of the environment.
